Tricks and Treats – Halloween stories from Connecticut Authors

“Tricks and Treats” is a Halloween anthology written by Connecticut authors, both contemporary and historical. Contemporary authors include myself, Melissa Crandall, Rayanne Strong, John Valeri, Stacey Longo, Kristi Peterson Schoonover, and g. Elmer Musson. Historical authors include Mark Twain, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Charlotte Perkins Gilmore and John G.C. Brainard.

The idea for “Tricks and Treats” was first conceived by my writing group. Each of us, myself Melissa, Rayanne, John and Stacey agreed to contribute two stories to the anthology. However, ten stories do not an anthology make unless one or two of them are novellas and none of these are. To round out the anthology, Stacey (who is also the owner of Books and Boos Press) invited Kristi and Elmer to join us. Then she drew some little know stories from famous Connecticut authors to fill out the book.

I have two stories in this anthology, “A Trick of a Treat” and “The Bag.” Both are young adult stories about two young boys trick or treating on Halloween. In a Trick of a Treat, Danny and George get more than they bargained for when an old man drops a “special” treat in each of their bags. In “The Bag,” Tony Percoskie’s trick or treat bag turns out to be scarier than any of the costumed ghosts and goblins out begging treats on Halloween night. Both were fun to write and I hope you enjoy them.

“Tricks and Treats” is available from Books and Boos Press (https://booksandboospress.com/) Amazon and other on-line booksellers.
