A Night at the Library

Last night, Monday, May 11, I spent almost two hours at the Wilton Branch of the Manchester, CT. library, at a “Meet the Author” event. This was the first time I’d ever done one of these so I wasn’t sure how it was going to go. Since “horror” is my genre, I felt I needed to wait and see the age and makeup of the audience before deciding what to read and talk about. Some of my (most of) my work is not suitable for young readers. Fortunately, it was an all adult audience and we could talk about anything. I read two short pieces and spent the rest of the time talking writing and answering questions. I had a great time, sold some books, met some new people and learned of a writer’s support group right here in Manchester that I never knew existed. Needless to say, I’m going to explore doing more of these events in nearby towns. Bolton and South Windsor spring immediately to mind.
